Happy Wedding Wednesday friends!
I am SO excited to share this lovely wedding with you. Greg (my husband) and I shot this wedding at High West Distillery in Park City, Utah. High West is a delicious restaurant just off of main street in Park City, Utah. This wedding was located at their Distillery just a few miles outside of Park City. This venue was beautiful! Gorgeous ceremony site, beautiful architecture, delicious food, and a fun tour of the distillery for guests!
I wanted to start shooting the first look in a gorgeous deep green backdrop where I had some shade to work with. It was 2 pm in July, so I needed to work with what I had. I loved the green lush field of quaking aspens. They translated perfectly with their destination wedding.
We started with their first look, took some great shots of the two of them, then added the immediate family, bridesmaids and groomsmen to the mix. This way we were able to get those super important shots out of the way.
On our way to the reception we stopped for some more shots at the High West restaurant and then were off to the ceremony.
High West Distillery is a fairly new venue in Utah, and I have a feeling it will get a lot of attention from my destination brides.
Now… this is the time and moment to sell a second photographer your way. I couldn’t pressure you enough to include this option in your wedding collection. As a primary photographer, I can usually capture everything around me and run fast enough to snap things here and there and everywhere. BUT I am ONE person and a wedding day has lots and lots happening. My favorite reason to have a second photographer is that they will capture more photojournalistic, candid, and precious moments. I’m in charge of guiding the group photos in an efficient and friendly way. I make sure all of the essential photos are taken with a mixture of giggles along the way. While I’m doing that the second photographer is snapping shots of cocktail hour, details of the decor, and anything else that happens while I’m with the wedding party. The second photographer is also shooting the second angle during the ceremony and while I’m with the ladies as they get ready, they’re with the fellas. This is all SUPER IMPORTANT to capture.
Now… I will say that I also photograph a lot of LDS weddings. These weddings are a little different and don’t necessarily need this second photographer coverage. Although… I still think you can never have enough cameras snapping away on your big day!
As for Will and Mia they wanted the second photographer option and I was so happy to hang out with my husband for a fun afternoon/evening.
THANK YOU Will and Mia for choosing me to photograph your wedding. I know you had a lot of options out there but it means the world to me that I could be the one with the trigger happy finger.
