I made then all sit down and pretend to read. I thought it was so cute!
Look at Maren on the left end. She is so stinkin’ cute!
This is the McKenna family’s third session with me. Each year it seems like they all grow taller but it’s always the same height difference. They just get closer in height to their parents. I love this fam. Mainly I love that I shoot the three sister’s photos. Shelly McKenna, Krista Whitaker, and Wendy Mason. They all look so similar, and they’re all SO fun!
Thanks again cute McKenna fam!
Tid bit of advice to families:
This session was really easy for me beacuse all of the kids were 5 and older. So this made for multiple poses and backdrops. It’s really difficult to get this same type of session for a family with small children. I have a 3 year old and an 8 month old, and I accept the fact that I can’t control them for longer than 15 minutes. 🙂 When I shoot families with small children I don’t have problems acting like a complete fool and maniac to get that shot. These are some of the things that I’ve done…
Pretended to pick my nose AND eat it.
Pretend my hand is a spider and it’s crawling on my head.
Running around in circles and pretending like my camera is an airplane coming in for a landing.
Playing hide and seek by running behind buildings, or trees.
This is after my high ridiculous yodel, clapping, and mad noises have stopped working.
I definitely will do absolutely anything to make kids smile, laugh, or look at me.
What I’m getting at, is that family portraits get better and better the older your kiddles get. When they are young, just expect more candid, laughing, running shots. 🙂
