Oh what to say about the one and only Chelsey Savio. I graduated with Chelsey, and frankly I was absolutely ecstatic to shoot her bridals. She showed up at the county building in Provo alone. It was hilarious to see her in a white wedding dress get out of the drivers seat of her car. This was the only session in my entire life that a bride has shown up alone for her session.
It was so great to be able to catch up with her. I haven’t seen her since I graduated… and it’s been almost 10 years! Yikes! That seems a lot worse when I type it.
Chelsey was on seminary council and I’m pretty sure she was homecoming queen. She was pretty much the favorite person at Orem High. She was also voted Best Personality. In other words everyone loved her and she still is loved! She is out of control hilarious and people flock to her.
Unfortunately I don’t get to be her photographer. I am double booked that day, so Greg will be shooting her wedding. So that’s why I won’t be at her wedding. I’m so sad I won’t get to see my friends, but that’s what the reunion is for next year. 🙂
Oh, one more thing. I was driving to the shoot and I saw a bunch of lilacs. In my head I thought that the next bride who says her colors are purple I’m going to take her photos next to those. I asked Chelsey and she said those were her colors and I flipped! We went straight there and shot the most gorgeous photos next to them. She also told me that she is obsessed with lilacs. She even wanted her bouquet to have them in it. It was absolutely perfect.
Here’s my advice to the photographers out there.
Be sure to keep composition in mind always! I picked a small bunch of lilac and had Chelsey hold it in her hand. You can’t tell that she’s holding it, but it helps your eye to keep moving across the image. I’ll usually try to use blossoms or in this case the lilacs to frame the image. It keeps the image flowing and adds interest.
