Emily – Avenia Bridal

This was a personal session I did in January. I borrowed two designer gowns from Avenia Bridal. www.aveniabridal.com.
Then I had my friend Lilly McDowell do her hair and makeup. Emily is a good friend from high school. She is absolutely stunning and super photogenic. In fact she was voted most photogenic in high school. I on the other hand was voted most likely to go bald…
Anyway, I borrowed the chair from Lilly, and I shot these in the living room of my friend Shawna Schauers. She is the custom gown maker that I always talk about.
I was largely pregnant at the time, but I really really wanted to get this session done. I loved the idea of having completely control of what the bride looked like with hair and makeup and the dress that she wore. Avenia Bridal also let me borrow their accessories as well. They are so fabulous to work with and they have the most amazingly gorgeous gowns. I love them because they have these high end designer gowns that they can build up to make custom sleeves.
I LOVE how these turned out. I want to do it again, but with the Spring and Summer coming up I’m not sure I’ll be able to find time.
I want to give a HUGE thanks to Lilly McDowell – hair and makeup, Nancy Barrus with Avenia Bridal , Lisa Powelson with Avenia Bridal, and Shawna Schauers for letting me rearrange her furniture. And a BIG BIG HUGE thanks to Emily Perucca – my new favorite model. Why must you be so stunning, but thanks for being fabulous!

ALRIGHT! Now you listen to me! You go and blow up that second picture where she has her hand up by her face and she is holding her dress up and looking back. You know the one! You go and blow it up right now, before lunch! It is the single most darling, stunning, outrageously fabulous photo ever taken! And that fist one is NOT BAD EITHER MISSY! You blow my mind. Honestly. I can't even take it.

McKenzie, I have to admit I have come back to this post like 10 times because I can't get enough of it. It is so stunning (I know that word has been used a lot in this post, but it is just the best word to describe it). Beautiful person, beautiful, lighting, beautiful make up, hair, dresses, setting (love the simplicity of the setting). They are really amazing.
