I wanted to show some shots of the props that I have. I don't have a lot and there are a couple of reasons for this. The main reason is that I am primarily a wedding photographer. So I don't need to accumulate a lot of props for studio sessions. I also have a very simplistic style. For example I love a little fat baby on a colored backdrop. I also like adding a chair. Anyway, the style in children studio photography is starting to add lots and lots of props to the photos. People are purchasing different types of flooring along with vintage props. I'm trying to keep up with the craze, but I really don't have time to go out searching for these things, then implementing them into the studio.
SO... I have found that I LOVE it when my clients bring their own props. I have had people bring adorable hair pieces for their babies. That might not sound like a big deal, but it's so adorable when a baby girl has a giant feather on her head. Or feather boas are fun mixed with a vintage jewelry box and pearls falling out of it. Bring cute hats or beanies for boys. I have had people bring blocks and spell their name on it. Birthday cakes for their 1st birthday. Baby legs. Tutus. Pearls. Favorite toys. Pets. The list goes on. What I'm getting at, is that it's great when you start thinking about what you want out of the session.
What I offer is a variety of colored backdrops and a mixture of chairs and baskets to use. :) I also have some pearls on hand, some adorable hair pieces, a black and pink tutu, and other stuffs. :)
Call me if you need help brainstorming what you want for your upcoming session. Thanks everyone!
